Barbecue

I Cannot wait until the forth of July. The family barbecue is coming up. Music, food, family, and games. I love when the family gets together for barbecues. With the exception of a friendly argument over a card or dominio game. It is very fun !

New Beginnings !

  I cannot wait to get out of school. I have been anticipating on getting out of school for like 2 weeks. It feels like this has taken so long to get out of school. I'm ready to start a new school year and meet new people. I will finally be a junior and I cannot wait to take the responsibilities of a junior.

The Boston Celtics

Last Night was game 5 for the Boston Celtics vs. The Miami Heat. It was a very intense game. It had me on the edge of my seat. Literally !! I was so happy that the Celtics won the game. The score was 94-90. The Miami Heat hosted the Celtics. The top performers were Kevin Garnett with 26 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks. For Miami, it was LeBron James with 30 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block.

Boys & Sports

 When boys talk about sports, they get so into it. The situation gets so intense. They start yelling and screaming. Talking who's better than who. Especially when they're talking about high school sports. It's so funny though. It's entertaining to hear about the different stats of everybody and their opinions on how they feel people play the sports they play.

The Future's Of Others

     Sometimes I wonder what other people want to do with their lives. Like some of the seniors that are going to graduate this year. I wonder if they have any goals or ambitions in life. I hope that they do, but from the looks of it, many of them don't.

Final Exams

   Finals are coming up. I'm not really worried about them, but I'm pretty sure that I will have to study. I hope that I will pass all of my finals. I know I will. I have been spending most of my spare time studying. I hope that everybody does good on their finals  =*

Relationships =)

Everyone has that one relationship that they think will last forever. Then it doesn't work out and they're heart-broken. Finally they find comfort in another person. Then that person falls for you and makes you realize that there is more chances and opportunities to be with other people. Relationships are a big piece of the life cycle. Almost half of you life if going to be with somebody you love. I read a quote that Johnny Deep wrote. It said : "If you fall in love with 2 people, choose the second one because obviously the first one wasn't right for you."

Prom !

 Today is the day that most juniors and seniors have been waiting for. It's Prom day. A lot of girls and boys are going to have the time of their lives tonight. I just hope that everyone is safe. No drinking and driving !!!

Memorial Day Parade

 On Memorial Day, MCJROTC will participate in the parade in Dearborn, Michigan. We will be wearing our Dress White Uniforms. I cannot wait until the parade. We will have to leave at 7:30 am. It is going to be a fun experience !

They're GONE !!!

     So the Seniors of River Rouge High School are gone. They haven't officially graduated yet, but they are gone. Now the current Juniors are going to be Seniors, and the current Sophomores (2014!!) are going to be Juniors. I can not wait to go through all the responsibilities of a Senior. I hope that they all do good in their futures and make something out of themselves.

Slowly Approaching

    The Last Day of School is finally approaching. We have less than 3 weeks left of school. Our last week of school is for finals. A lot of people are planning what they're doing for summer vacation. I can't wait until that final bell rings and we can leave until September :)

Last Day Of School

      So the last day of school is coming up. For a lot of students they are already out of school. I Know kids can't wait until that last bell rings. Except for those who have to attend summer school. I'm happy that I don't have to attend summer school. I can't wait until the last day of school.

Burger King's New Chicken Strips !!!

So Burger King has recently start making new chicken strips. I haven't tasted them yet, but I am going to taste them today. If they are as good as the Chicken Fries, then they will have a little advantage over other fast food restaurants. They come with eight different sauces you can choose from. I hope they are good and not a waste of money !!!

College Fair !

   Today at our school, we had a college fair. There were many good colleges at the fair. University of Michigan, Michigan State University, Saginaw Valley State University, Davenport University, Wayne State University, and many more colleges. After attending this college fair, and listening to all of the colleges, I believe I might be interested in either Davenport or Wayne State University. Davenport University has the correct classes for what I want to do when I get older. If I go to the University of Michigan, it will be tough for me, and very stressful. Even though the requirements aren't very hard for me, and if I try hard enough, I will be able to accomplish them, I don;t want to compete against other students just to go to school. I believe Davenport University is the right school for me.

Dual Enrollment Program

     At my school, there is a program called the Dual Enrollment Program. There are two schools that we can go to. It's either Eastern Michigan University or Wayne County Community College (WCCC) This is a program, where high school students can go to a local college and take classes for college credits. I feel that this is a very good program, because if you get the credits in high school, you won't have to be in college for so long. I had an interview today to see if I am eligible for a slot. The slots in the Dual Enrollment Program are limited. They are going by GPA and whether or not you can handle the amount of college work and high school work. I hope that this program is available in all schools, so there is an opportunity for everybody to go to college.

JROTC Uniforms

 At any school that has a JROTC class you are required to wear a uniform. The uniform that is similar to the ones that people that fight for our country wear. At our school, River Rouge High School, we have a Marine Corp JROTC program. Every Thursday we have to wear the Cammies. When its hot or cold. Today it is hot as ever, and these uniforms & boots are no joke. The walk home will be hot and annoying.

All of these uniforms are what the men & women of the Marine Corps wear.

ACT 2013

For millions of 10th graders that are becoming 11th graders next school year, its time to study for the ACT. Some believe that there isn't a way to study for the ACT. I have purchased a ACT test prep book, and I plan on using it until it is time for that ACT. I hope that I get a good score on my test.  I plan to enter University of Michigan and I would need to get a 26 on the ACT. I hope everybody gets a good score on their test.

Preparing For The Future

     Today I got a letter from University of Michigan containing information that I would to need to know if I wanted to attend that school. I am doing everything that I possibly can to prepare for college life. Many students don't really take school serious but I do. I really want to attend University of Michigan-Dearborn. I know I must have at least a 24 on the ACT & about a 3.00 GPA. I am trying to study for the ACT. I take the ACT next year hopefully. They say 11th grade year is the most crucial so I'm going to try and get some of the stuff out of the way.
    I can't wait until I get a job. I believe that having the responsibility of having a job will best one of the best experiences ever.  I just want to make my mom & the rest of my family happy.

Summer =)

The summer is coming up and I know a lot of people can't wait. I absolutely love the summer. Wearing shorts, going to the parks, the ice cream trucks. It is just a great time. Other than winter, summer is my favorite season. Although it be a few ratchet ones, the summer is awesome for great fashions ! That's basically the main reason why I love summer. The pretty sundresses, the short shorts, the tank tops, everything ! I cannot wait until summer !!!!!!

That Mother Daughter Relationship ♥

Me & my mother has the best relationship ever. We are like best friends but, she knows when to be a "best friend" and when to be a mother. Ever since my dad died she has been the best ever. Along with the help of my step-father. She helps me achieve many goals, and she supports anything that I think will benefit my future. She has been here since day one and will be here until the last day. I love my mother very much & anyone that disrespects her disrespects me, and that's not going down  ♥

Burger King vs. McDonald's

                                                                                            

So Burger King has came out with their new Banana Strawberry Smoothies. It's ironic how McDonalds  have had their Smoothie first then Burger King makes one. Preferably, I like McDonalds. Burger King's fries are not salty enough for me, and they are soggy. One Thing I like from Burger King is the Double Stacker.  At McDonald's, I  usually get  a ten piece nugget with a large fry and a sweet tea.  At Burger King The Pops are usually watered down & the tea doesn't have enough sugar. That's just how I feel :)

What NOT To Wear In High School ...

In some schools, there is a strict dress code. In other schools, you can wear whatever. I believe that there should be a limit to what people can wear to school. Some people dress like they're going to the club. That's not appropriate for school. It's girls & boys. A lot of the attention is always focused on the girls, but  I think that boys are just as bad as girls.

Feelings

    Have you ever had feelings so strong about somebody & they dont know ? That is the worst feeling ever. A lot of relationships have been created because of unknown relationships. I suggest that if you have strong feelings about someone you should let them know. If you hold them in for too long, it will be too late, and the minute that you see that person with any other person it would break your heart. I'm just saying, follow what your heart says at times because sometimes your head will tell you wrong.

Boyfriend/Girlfriend

         Boyfriends & Girlfriends are such a wonderful thing. They are sometimes the only ones that understands you at times. They may get on your last nerves but at the end of the day, they will be there for you. Its crazy how there is that one person in the whole world that understands you and will love you for who you are. Its cool that I can share  my feelings with this one person. =)

Spring Break

       So Spring Break has been a fun time for a lot of students. Going to the beach, going out of town, & many more fun things. For me I just chilled. Spring Break is a very fun time for many students in high school and college. I wonder what do teenage celebrities do on spring break ? I hope they have a fun time. I hope everyone had a fun spring break.

Best Friends

       So everybody has a best friend. I love my best friend. We talk about almost everything. The Definition of Best Friend is the one friend who is closet to you. A person you know well and regard  with affection and trust.
       We have been best friends since the eighth grade. Nobody could ever break us apart. We have been through a lot. Break-ups, deaths, marriages, everything. That's why I love my best friend.

Peer Pressure O_o

     Peer pressure takes place EVERYWHERE. No matter how old or how young. No matter whether you're in high school or if you've graduated from college. Peer pressure will always be around. For many teens, they feel pressured to fit in with the "cool" or "popular" kids.
    The Adolescent Substance Abuse Knowledge Base reports that right around 30 % that if kids are offered drugs in middle or high school, they are compelled to take them because of peer pressure. Peer pressure can cause a lot of teens to do crazy things. Some deny dealing with peer pressure when it is obviously a big factor in their lives.

Report Card Time =\

       So for most schools, it's the end of the third quater, and you know what that means. REPORT CARDS. For some it's the worst time ever, but for others, it's the best. For me it's the best.
    Ever since the beginning of the third quater students just gave up because it's close to the end of the year. That's where a lot of students get twisted up at. Just because it's the end of the year you're not supposed to just give up. It's the time where you do your best so you don't have to go to SUMMER SCHOOL. Ugh. That's one place I don't ever want to experience.
     I hope everybody did good on their report cards =)

Just Throw It Back In My Face !!!

     Have you ever tried to help someone so that they wouldn't ruin their reputation and they just turn around and do the same thing, or just keeps on doing what they were doing ? That really sucks ! I've been trying to help a really close person to me, but she just doesn't get it. She young also, so that is a big contributor to the whole problem. Social networking sites are a big part of her ruining her reputation.
     I understand she is trying to fit in with her friends, there are other ways to fit in. If your friends encourage you to fight, do drugs, skip school, have sex etc. then they're not your real friends. That's just been bothering me for a long time.  I KNOW a lot of people can relate to that.

Stressing

While an overarching study of stressed out teens has yet to be compiled, it is easy to estimate that most every teen in the United States has felt some sort of stress, and many are stressed out. And as an indication of the overlooked nature of teen stress it is estimated that around 10 percent of all teens suffer from an anxiety disorder.

In Baltimore, teens were interviewed as part of a study "Confronting Teen Stress, Meeting the Challenge in Baltimore City", which looked at levels of teen stress. The following is some of the results. From the study, the five stressors causing the most worry included "school work (68%), parents (56%) friends' problems (52%), romantic relationships (48%), and drugs in the neighborhood (48%)". The five sources of stress most often experienced for the youth in the study included "school work (78%), parents (68%), romantic relationships (64%), friends' problems (64%), and younger siblings (64%).

The study also looked at how the teenagers coped with their stress. For boys approximately

• 25% avoided or refused to deal with their stress, 
• 23% sought ways to distract themselves away from their stress, 
• 17% sought support, and 
• 35% actively tried to reduce their stress.

On the other hand, when it came to the girls, approximately 

• 19% avoided or refused to deal with their stress, 
• 14 % sought ways to distract themselves away from their stress, 
• 22% sought support, and 
• 45% actively tried to remove or reduce their stress .

In summary, boys more often used the tools of avoidance and distraction while girls looked for support and actively tried to reduce their stress. Girls also said they experienced more stress then boys, stemming largely from their relationships with boys and friendships with girls. Boys attributed their stress to authority figures, (i.e. teachers). The study suggested that stress management programs should separate girls and boys for some of the activities, since their answers were so different. The study also recommended that programs should teach girls and boys how to react in a healthy manner towards stress. Avoidance and aggression can be unhealthy while exercise and keeping a journal concerning your stress are healthy outlets.

• More and more cities and school districts are starting to look at teen stress. Some are developing programs for teachers and families to help determine stressful situations and how to teach healthy stress relieving tactics. There are resources online (please see the below sources for some ideas to get started) to help parents, teachers and teenagers themselves learn more about their stress and how to work through it.

Reach for the Stars

   So Reach for the Stars is the most commonly used phrase when it comes down to a teenager. "What if I can't get that far ? " says the teenager. "Well REACH FOR THE STARS !" replies the adult. If I'm going to reach for the stars I might as well go further. I believe "Reach for the Stars" is an understatement. 

    If you're going to "Reach for the Stars" you might as well go and Reach for the WHOLE Solar System. You might as well. Makes Perfect sense :)
